Rookie TreVeyon Henderson has recorded five scores during the current campaign

New England equaled their best victory streak since the Tom Brady era as they beat AFC East opponents the Jets 27-14 in professional football

First-year standout Henderson was the standout with three TDs as the Patriots notched an eighth consecutive victory for the first time since iconic QB Tom Brady's final season with the team in the 2019 season

Quarterback Maye passed for 281 yards and a touchdown, connecting on 25 out of 34 attempts

Victory increases the New England's lead at the summit of the division as they advanced to a 9-2 record, with the Jets at the foot after falling to two victories and eight defeats

The Jets had taken the lead at Gillette Stadium with quarterback Justin Fields scoring a five-yard TD to cap the New York's first possession

But the New England responded in the second quarter as the rookie rushed for two short rushing scores before the ball carrier caught a pass from Maye at the back of the end zone in the middle of the third quarter to make it 21 to 7

"It was a crucial moment for him delivering, and it's been great for him to keep getting these reps," Maye said of the rookie. "He desires to be outstanding."

Justin Fields connected with John Metchie in the latter part of the third period to reduce the lead for the visitors but Borregales converted a two field goals in the fourth quarter as the home side wrapped up the victory
