Chopper Twirls Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Frequented California Beach
A chopper hovering above a popular coastal shoreline abruptly began spiraling uncontrollably, ultimately losing altitude and plunging into a row of palm groves as beachgoers looked on.
Footage uploaded on the internet show the helicopter commencing to spiral over the shoreline then plunging near the border of the shore, where it becomes wedged among palm trees and a set of stairs near the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Update
The Huntington Beach fire department said five persons were rushed to the hospital involving a pair who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the incident on the weekend.
Three individuals on the road were harmed. Information on their wounds were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
